A small but cozy place. Lunch menu is simple, but delicious and affordable.If you aren't in rush, you should try the menu à la carte. I have mostly tried vietnamese food everywhere in Frankfurt, and I have to say that Onkel Lam is currently one of my favorites. Pho is an absolute highlight.The service is really friendly, attentive and polite!I will definitely visit this place again :)

"Stäbchen" is no more, so let's welcome "Onkel Lam". They just opened a few days ago and since schools were closed today because of winter storm "Sabine", I decided to take my son here for lunch. We were able to get a table at the window and were handed menus, but after just a minute we were told to pay special attention to the lunch menu options displayed over the counter since they are more affordable. What a nice gesture. :) In the end, we ordered pork dumplings from the regular menu (Nr 9) as well as fried rice with chicken and veggies (Nr T2) and red curry with chicken, veggies and steamed rice (Nr T3) from the lunch menu. The food came out quickly and was well prepared overall. I enjoyed the fried rice dish the most since I felt that the curry dish didn't cook long enough to develop a proper flavor profile. In both dishes, the veggies still had a bite to them and the chicken was well prepared. The dumplings were fine, but didn't wow me since I found them a little bland. The service was super friendly and attentive without being obtrusive though. Overall, I would rate the food at 3.75 stars and the service 4 stars, so we'll definitely be back.
