All the bad reviews here in the last year or so are people who are crying for the old owner not being there anymore. I’ve been eating here for a while now and it’s great! The lady that owns the place now, gives you more in portions than the old owner (Nick) and the food quality is very good. Reminds me of how old Greek town days back in Danforth in Toronto. I always get the poutine with extra gravy and she never charges me for the extra gravy, and it’s the best damn cheese curds I’ve ever had. A lot of the people complaining about the old owner leaving don’t know how to move on and probably are the jealous ex that won’t let go

Had to update my review as the restaurant has changed ownership and unfortunately the quality and preparation of the food has dropped considerably. Not the same Tom's Grill anymore! ------ It does not get more local diner than Tom's Grill (Nick's) when you are looking for a restaurant in Whitby. I still need to find out the story behind the restaurant name but when I do expect an update here. The owners are wonderful people and are always happy to help accommodate any dietary need or food related questions. The food is hearty and filling with very generous portions. Their greek potatoes taste delicious and have the right balance of lemon and herbs. Lunch portions are done right and worth the money paid for them. All other food items I have ordered from them have been good. A welcoming restaurant that makes you feel like home with freshly prepared hearty food is hard to beat! The only downside I see is the parking situation but don't let that stop you from checking out the restaurant. There is some road and Green P parking in and around the area. I recommend you stop by for lunch or dinner and check out this food spot in Whitby. They also do greek food catering should you need to feed a larger party.
