The restaurant is beautiful inside and the ambience is simply incredibly beautiful. You feel like you're on a cruise ship. Staff is super nice and friendly. The food tastes indescribably delicious and the serving of the food is also very aesthetic. The cook has an enchanted hand. I've eaten several dishes there now and I enjoyed it every time. The staff also responds to special requests. The drinks are also very tasty and beautifully served. I can highly recommend the Piña Colada and the Virgin Colada. UPDATE AFTER MOVE The New Orleans 2.0 is located at the former Saturn, and unfortunately not many Herford residents wander into this corner of the pedestrian zone anymore... And from the outside it doesn't look like a stylish pseudo-chic bar, which automatically attracts a certain clientele. So here's a review so you know whether it might be worth it for you to stop by there. The owner is still very warm and personable and the new chef is really good. Everyone is nice, natural and friendly without any pretense. That's why you feel like you see all the regular customers from the "old" New Orleans there again and again. The relaxed atmosphere has remained, no showmanship, no hassle, no riffraff, just normal people of all ages who want to spend a relaxed evening with good food. By the way, the prices are also completely reasonable. The menu has changed slightly but the burgers are still great. But everything else tastes great, is fresh and sufficiently portioned. I recently tried Penne Gorgonzola (just to finally NOT have a burger) and it was really tasty. Overall, I never ate anything that wasn't good in either 1.0 or 2.0. There's definitely a lot here for down-to-earth eaters and I'm sure special requests will also be catered for.
