Ortigia's Hidden Vegan GemWe were so excited to find Nick House! When we arrived, we couldn't believe how many vegan options they offered. Its savory options include grilled vegetables, red pumpkin sweet & sour, salads, rice salad, and taboule loaded with vegetables. Steve & I had the taboule and LOVED it!For refreshing options, the granita flavors include prickly pear, mulberry, lemon, almond, pistachio, and pomegranate.You can order your cappuccino with soy, almond, or rice milk. I ordered soy both times I went in for coffee simply because I prefer how it foams up.And if you have been searching for a vegan cannoli, this is the only cafe in Siracusa you can find it. I went back twice (I would have gone again if I hadn't run out of time). The chocolate is rich and delicious. I enjoyed the vanilla but if you are a chocolate fan, I highly recommend that one. They come in large and small depending on how big of a treat you would like.For breakfast, it offers croissants with lemon, red-orange, mandarin, or apricot jam.This was one of the most vegan-friendly places on the island and my favorite bar. The cafe owner is absolutely lovely and I can't wait to go back again.
