We don't often dine in, but we decided to grab something to eat at Mugg & Bean on Sunday while shopping at Gateway. I’m not usually one to complain, but the service we received was not great at all. This was surprising because we chose to go to Mugg & Bean specifically for the food and service one usually receives. It started off well with a friendly waiter, but then it kind of went downhill from there. The waiter didn’t write anything down while taking our order, which was a bit concerning since we were four people giving different orders. We thought maybe he had a great memory. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, there were mistakes with three of the orders. We hate complaining and sending food back, so we just ate it anyway. The waiter didn’t come to check on us, and we waited a long time for the bill—so long that we had to ask another waiter if we could please get it. We were told to go downstairs, where our waiter would sort us out. When we got there, the machines weren’t working, so back up we went. The card machine upstairs was also giving issues, and then the waiter kept swiping my card incorrectly. It’s just a bit disappointing when you hardly ever dine in, and when you decide to treat yourself, take people out for lunch, and spend R1000, you get such shitty service. We arrived in a good mood but left feeling very irritated and disappointed. Needless to say, we won’t really be visiting that Mugg & Bean again.
