Amazing food and such a wonderfully hospitable host! We had the ceviche and the lomo saltado (stir fried beef), both of these were absolutely delicious. The beef was so tender and the fish was something i will think about for a long time to come. We will definitely visit again. We also tried two of the peruvian drinks, chicha morena, which is a purple corn drink. So good!!! Definitely recommend visiting this wholesome restaurant when visiting Antwerp. Worth the money. I came to this place because of the great reviews (4.7 based on over a thousand ratings), expecting a nice Belgian meal and a relaxing atmosphere. Instead, I had a very uncomfortable experience. I walked in with my headphones on and approached a table to sit down. A man at the bar stopped me and said, "Toilet is only for customers." I replied, "I don't need your toilet, I want to sit." He looked at me and asked, "For what?" I said, "To order food and drinks." Only then he nodded and said, "Okay." Honestly, I had a strong feeling that he mistook me for someone homeless or unwelcome — and the whole interaction made me feel like I didn't belong. I waited 10 minutes for someone to bring a menu, but no one came. At that point he approached me without the menu and told me "if everything okay?", told him politely that it didn’t feel very welcoming and I was going to leave, to which he simply replied “Have a nice day.” And controlled me to leave reastaurant like I'm some kind of criminal I don’t know how this place got such high reviews, but for me, it was a disappointing and cold experience. Hospitality should start with respect, regardless of who walks through the door.

We stumbled on this spot late in the evening when the restaurant was empty and it looked like they were closing, yet the owners very graciously served us anyway. Lomo slatado was DELICIOUS. Very tender beef with tomatoes and onions cooked until very flavorful! We had a wonderful time and would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Antwerp.
