Took my boyfriend there for his first time, and he loved it. He has a food allergy and they made sure his grill space was freshly cleaned just for his food. The staff were very kind and friendly. He said that he was very happy and that he would definitely return in the future. Vegetarian options: Tons to choose from, you can fill your own bowl and then they cook it for you. Used to be amazing. We went the other night and honestly, it was really gross. The cleanliness went way downhill. They seem to have all new staff but the hygiene practices are no longer being trained. I saw one staff member come out with a bucket of oil and just dump it into the pan. They used to replace it with a fresh one instead of just add the new to the old. Or at least they would do the adding in the back. The noodles had the entire tongs stuck in the noodles, handle and all. No one replaced the noodles or even any spoons and the sauces were all splattered in each other, looked unappetizing. The grill cooks (I realize this job takes a lot of practice) were not doing a clean as they go, they were having inappropriate conversations, they were throwing my scallops all over the place and I ended up with only a couple. They were spilling rice everywhere, the floor was disgusting and the grill and the food catcher on the grill was just a gross pile of food.
The previous staff used to maintain a clean area and weren't shouting and spitting all over the food, they weren't scraping their spatula gunk on the side then pouring it into your bowl with the food. They kept the counters and the sauces clean, they didn't just bring out a container and dump in it. They would bring out fresh spoons regularly, etc.
Honestly the whole experience felt dirty and trashy. We will probably try a new location in the future and hopefully that one is cleaner. I love mongos. It's my favourite restaurant. This was such a turn off. We didn't eat our food and just got it to go and threw it out.

Mongo's Grill was amazing today! Curtis, the regional manager went above and beyond by ensuring that my food was prepared with caution, as I have a sea-food allergy. Our server Jacob was prompt with drink refills and always had a smile. In a world where smiles and great service have become less and less, we were so very happy to experience grade A service. Trés Bien Team!
