I went here knowing nothing about it as I had just dropped my wife off nearby. Google recommended this place to me when I typed "coffee" into the navigation. The place is tiny and is located in a small strip mall with an awkward parking lot in front of it. I opened the door and was greeted by a very pleasant lady who took my order and busily got it together. A fellow as behind a counter busily finishing up tarts so you know they are made in house. The cappuccino I ordered had a design in the foam with a bit of chocolate drizzle. There was also a dusting of what tasted like cinnamon. The coffee tasted great and I was asked if I wanted sugar in it which I declined. I also ordered a piece of cheesecake, coffee cake, and a lemon tart because they looked amazing in the display case. The cheesecake is quite light and subtle in flavour. The texture is light and almost almost whipped. The coffee cake is a Greek yogurt coffee cake and is quite creamy with a very pleasant coffee flavour. The lemon tart has a nice crisp shell with a beautiful lemon curd that is packed with lemon flavour. There is no questioning what you are eating. What a gem of a place to stumble upon. This hidden gem off Northmount Drive close to the university is run a by lovely couple. We make sure to visit at least once a week for their delicious cakes, tarts, and quiche. They also serve a perfectly balanced cup of coffee or tea as you may choose. Their cakes are so good that we even had a special order for our wedding cake! A really happy place with nice music always playing, and the welcome smiles of the two owners. Calgary is lucky to host Minuet cafe! Kid-friendliness: The owners are always extra kind to my daughter!
