Mikaku Udon Bar in Cabbagetown is an absolute gem! The food was incredible—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was equally amazing; the staff was attentive and friendly, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. A special shoutout to the manager, MiYoung, who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. Her hospitality truly stood out. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for exceptional udon and a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back! The chicken curry udon is very very creamy, so depending on your taste this might be a bit too rich. The chicken cutlet is sliced extremely thin, there wasn't too much meat. I liked the addition of the cabbage inside the udon so that there is more texture to it. The buta udon soup was overly sweet, with not too many slices of pork. The chicken karaage was crispy, but flavor tasted more like Korean style fried chicken. Also, the portion for the price of $12.99 was not worth it. Food was good but restaurant is understaffed with only one waitrestaurant working. We waited 30 minutes for the table but food was fast to come. We had the brothless udon and the portion is satisfactory.
