Despite the beautiful location, our experience at Medea Beach Club was disappointing and frustrating. The service was virtually nonexistent — no waitstaff attended to guests on the beach, so we had to walk up to the main entrance for every request, from ordering food to asking for towels. When we finally sat down for lunch, we waited over 15 minutes and still had to ask for basic things like plates and cutlery. The food was mediocre at best, especially considering the premium pricing. Beyond that, the beach club itself feels like an afterthought — the entire structure is built from plywood, which gives it a cheap, temporary vibe more reminiscent of a construction site than a luxury beach club. Another frustrating detail: towels were not included, and we only discovered this after we had already settled into our beach chairs. We then had to walk back up to the main area to purchase them — something that should have been clearly communicated upon arrival. Overall, Medea looks the part in photos but lacks the service, quality, and polish you’d expect in Taormina. If you’re looking for a true top-tier beach club experience — with great facilities, excellent service, and quality food — head to Nuova Spiaggia, right next door. It’s everything Medea should have been.

I was dying to go to a quiet beach and chill out next to a calm sea. The kids hated it, they are under 12 years old, they complained there are no other kids to play with and no waves an no adventures. For adults it’s paradise and so serene!! I didn’t like the fact that they kicked us out totally at 7.00 pm, I didn’t understand why we were not allowed to sit on their chairs. Very weird thing! I didn’t expect them to give me their towels and keep it open for us but at least to allow us to stay there. Bizarre!

nice clear water. nice beach chairs. place like a canteen on wheels though. we were the only customers on restaurant area, they charged 3 euro per person as cover charge although we had only 2 items: an aperol spritz and a beer. so no reason for cover charge! this happened nowhere else in Sicily on a 9-day road trip to Palermo, Cefalu, Syracuse and Taormina. This is wrong. an official rip-off that was not mentioned even on the menu. the waiter replied "I am an employee, I do not know".
