Once a year I take a very special friend of mine here for her birthday. And there's a reason for it being THE destination for a celebration of a beautiful life at Maria's. On 27 April 2024 we did the same and was served by a most wonderful human being, Brent. The food? Absolutely fabulous. The vibe? Unbeatable. The memory? Saving up for next year, same time, same place! 28 January 2024 When you stumble on a gem that's been under your nose all this time! What a wonderful afternoon spent under the trees enjoying Greek food at Maria's Greek Café. We walked through the Company Gardens to get to Maria's and as we came around the corner it was like walking into a little square somewhere in Greece. Magical. Tables inside and out under the trees were full, so we were glad we'd made a reservation with Papi, who was also our server for the day. We ordered Chicken Souvlaki - 2 x 4 pieces of chicken skewered on a rosemary stick, Greek salad, tzatziki and chips. We didn't read the menu to see that it wasn't accompanied with pita bread, so ordered that as a side. We also ordered hummus and pitas. The meal was finished off with melt in your mouth kourabiethes - 3 in a portion. We can't wait to get back and spend some more lazy Sunday afternoons under the trees. The menu has so many great options. The difficulty will come in deciding what to order next time. Highly recommended!
