Decent food and portion size, normal prices. With small remarks - the grilled vegetables with the mackerel were totally tasteless and almost raw, and fried potatoes do not mean potato chips. M&D restaurant is one of the three places in Tsarevo that are really worth visiting and spending time in. It is in the Vasiliko neighbourhood close to the bus stop and the central area of the borough. The restaurant offers Greek style atmosphere with good quality food. Dishes are served on nice, proper sized plates with moderate temperature of the plates themselves, and different from all otger places in town. Not to mention the chefs know how to arrange the food on the plates. All tables are covered with a white table cloth and there is olive oil and balsamic vinegar on them - not something often seen on the Black sea coast, especially to the south of Varna. Vegetables are fresh and rich in taste, aroma and colour, not like the ones you normally buy from the supermarket. Had a typical salad with rich in flavour pink tomatoes, fresh and full of taste cucumbers, well baked red pepper, well ripe white cheese made of milk and great, fleshy and aroma full bodied Kalamata olives. Ordered grilled shrimps with lemon, herbs and tzatziki salad and they were really delicious. It was easy even for a amateur to quickly recognise the herbs and the barbecue grilled tones. The traditional Bulgarian meatballs (kiufteta) were astonisingly good, made of real meat on a classical BBQ and the chips was made of real potatoes, freshly fried. My fish was typically Greek and Mediterranean one. Came perfectly grilled at the classical barbecue that burns on wood and was seasoned with lots of herbs, savoury, oregano, thyme, red pepper, etc. The garrnish included grilled potatoes, carrot, peppers and courgette that were so well grilled and have kept all their juices and aromas, and yet one can recognise the wood from the barbecue. Congrats to the chef! The only downside is that it only works during the active season and closes in the middle of September.
