We arrived at the Mambo Milano restaurant on Wednesday following a sale posted on the Student Group app - a 25% discount between Sunday and Wednesday. The offer sounded attractive and worthwhile, so we decided to try the restaurant. At the beginning of the meal I confirmed with the waiter that the offer was valid. He clearly confirmed the details of the benefit, which gave me confidence to continue ordering. At the end of the meal, when I asked for a bill including the discount, the experience began to deteriorate. The AHMS came to the table and asked if my partner also had a student ID. Since she didn't have any, he announced that the discount would only apply to half of the bill. I tried to explain to him that it was not mentioned anywhere in the details of the offer, nor was it mentioned at the beginning of the meal when I specifically inquired about it with the waiter. Beyond that, it is a couple - after all, it is likely that people come to the restaurant for a couple's meal, and not alone. In the advertisement of the promotion, there was no requirement that all diners be required to have a student ID. This demand, which was discovered only at the end of the meal, is a lie and cheating. Despite my attempts to explain the illogicality, the AHMS stood by his opinion and claimed that it was a demand of the Student Group. This is a completely unfounded excuse, as it is clear that they are not paying out of pocket for the discount. In conclusion, the feeling is that they tried to "evade" the provision of the promised benefit, even though they approved it in advance.
