I did not have a good experience at this market today. I bought two bunches of watercress. The cashier asked how many bundles I had, and I told her two. She did not believe me. She started pinching the bag and shuffling the vegetables around. Even then, she still did not believe me and dumped the entire bag onto the checkout counter. After that, she stuffed the vegetables back into the bag roughly. These vegetables are for human consumption, not animal feed. Customers deserve to be treated with respect. This is not an isolated incident. The same thing has happened to my friends when buying onions or other bundled vegetables. Staff often question why the bundles look large or “abnormal,” as if customers are trying to cheat over a few dollars. If there is a concern, they should ask a manager why the vegetables are bundled that way instead of treating customers like beggars or criminals. To make matters worse, their produce displays are misleading. Fresh vegetables are placed on top while rotten ones are hidden underneath. Please do not pretend this is an ethical business practice. After this experience, I will not shop here again. I will go to Superstore or T&T instead, where customers are treated better and the products are fresher and cleaner.

I love visit and shop at Lucky Supermarket. I can found Galangal, Kaffir lime leaves, turmeric and other Indonesian spices and herbs. But they dont have Tempe. I asked many times about Tempe and nobody knows what is Tempe. Tempeh (sometimes spelled tempe) is a traditional Indonesian food that is very popular as a plant-based protein source. Here is a breakdown of what it is: Made from: Fermented soybeans. Process: The soybeans are cooked and then fermented with a special type of mold (a fungus called Rhizopus oligosporus or Rhizopus oryzae). This process binds the soybeans together. Appearance: It forms a firm, dense block or "cake" where you can still see the whole soybeans held together by a white, mold-based mycelium. Taste and Texture: It has a firm, "meaty" texture and a distinctive, somewhat nutty and earthy flavor, often described as more robust than tofu. Nutritional Value: It is highly nutritious, packed with protein (it's a complete protein), fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals. The fermentation process also makes it easier to digest. How it's used: Like tofu, it's very versatile. It easily absorbs marinades and can be sliced, diced, or crumbled and then baked, pan-fried, or steamed for use in everything from sandwiches and stir-fries to curries and tacos. You can think of it as a hearty, fermented soybean cake that is an excellent, protein-rich meat substitute.
