C’est mon restaurant préféré. J’y suis allé à plusieurs reprise.Tout est excellent. Mais je suis déçu qu’il est changé la recette des calmants frit. Avant ils étaient beaucoup plus tendre avec une meilleure sauce. Pour mon goût à moi, je n’en mangerai plus . Également le menu des drinks, vin et spiritueux à vraiment rapetissé Mais je le recommande quand même

I was just forced to cancel my Birthday dinner on the same day of the event, 4 hours before it began, because I received a call from the restaurant and was told that they could no longer accommodate my reservation of 18 people. I suppose there were other reviews on here with similar reservation disasters that I should've paid more attention to but I've been to Lucille's Monkland many many times and I thought I could trust it. I have never in my life been treated this way and certainly will never be treated like this again at the hands of any of the Lucille's locations. Full story below, but in short do not make reservations here and expect the restaurant to honour them. Definitely do not make reservations for any big events you would care about cancelling.The full story is, I called to make reservations for my 30th Birthday for 12 people, 1.5 months before the date of the event. They took down basic information and showed enthusiasm for the event. 7 days before the event, 1 week ago, I called the restaurant back to change the reservation to 18 people. I was explicit with the woman over the phone in that if they could not accommodate this change, it was totally fine and that I would look elsewhere. I implored her over and over again to let me know honestly and reassured her that I would understand, that I've been to Lucille's many times in the passed - I'm a huge fan and would never think of ill of them if they couldn't accommodate the change. I was very clear and understanding but firm on them letting me know if it wasn't OK as soon as possible so that I'm not left with nowhere to go at the last minute. After some discussion with "her manager" and putting me on hold, I was assured by her that it wouldn't be a problem at all. She told me she "added 3 tables to my reservation" and they were going to make this work for me because they knew it was my birthday and wanted us to have a good time. She reconfirmed the details of the reservation, 18 people, 8 pm, Lucille's Laval and thats it. We were on the phone for almost 5 minutes, seems like everything was worked out and taken seriously and that it wasn't an issue for them to accommodate 6 more people.Today is the date of the event and at 3:40 pm I get a call from the restaurant looking to confirm my reservation for 12 people. I explained to the woman over the phone that I had called to change the reservation a week ago. No recollection, no record, no notes on any of these changes. Now of course there is a big reservation of 55 people at the restaurant. I was told everything from "are you sure you called the right place"? "who did you speak with"? I made the mistake of saying I called on a Monday, because I couldn't remember the exact date I had called, and of course "they're closed on Mondays" so naturally it was assumed I must have spoken to some ghost who haunts Lucille's who told me it's OK. There's no way I could've spoken to an actual person at the correct Lucille's to confirm this change because they're closed on Monday. Naturally, I'm an idiot that has nothing better to do but to pretend like I called and spoke to someone about this. Cancelling everyone's plans and getting everyone to displace themselves or find babysitters on my behalf is just what I like to do with my spare time on Saturdays... After being told they would try, they called me back a couple minutes later and confirmed they couldn't accommodate me. Clearly judging by other reviews this is not the first time and I'm not the only one. The Montreal/Laval restaurant landscape is way to competitive to be circle jerking your would-be customers like this. My advice to management is get your sh** together or stop taking reservations altogether. It's clear to me that you don't need the business or this would've been taken more seriously.
