Nous sommes venues aujourd’hui pour un brunch, quelle déception! J’ai pris un breakfast classique, la fraise dans l’assiette n’était pas du tout fraîche et devait dater de quelques jours ainsi que les pommes de terre… les œufs étaient trop cuits. Nous étions déjà venus pour un dîner et le repas s’était bien passé mais là, le brunch ne m’a pas donné envie de revenir. Très déçue. The Longfellow Restaurant is wonderful. Service was very friendly. Our food was great and we will return and recommend to our friends who live in the area. We had the Fish with salad and the Chicken Sandwich with chips. We shared the sides. For dessert we treated ourselves to a piece of their homemade Coconut Cream pie! Fabulous!!! Terrible experience overall! I have gone to the Evangeline restaurant/Stirlings for decades, and was excited to be going back. We arrive on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 to two cars in the parking lot and I thought: oh that’s a telltale. My experience previously on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 was a parking lot full. We waited in the entry for 12 minutes to show us to a table. Three different people from the back kitchen were aware that we were there yet no one appeared. Finally, add a table, I had the chowder; my sister; the omelet. My chowder was as thick as a very thick gravy, and very dark gray in colour. Very little fish with lots of thick fatty bacon. The color, the consistency and texture, and the taste, were all extremely unappealing. No scone accompanied the chowder, but my server assured me three times at five minute intervals that the scone would arrive. Never did.!!! Finished my chowder and asked about the scone and she said she just spoke in the kitchen about it. Later, she asked me if I’d like to take it home. At that point I simply said no thanks. My sister’s toast arrived about five minutes into the meal with a pad of better stuck between each of two pieces rather than spread.
The entire episode was very disappointing! I certainly will not frequent this place.
