The Lion's head pub is a solid 3 stars of Hotel bar. It's not really fair to rate it against a bar that stands alone. Yet, I'm going to. We went there after the gym and the waitress unenthusiastically told us "it's happy hour..everything is cheaper..." . We waited for more info, but eventually had to ask. When we asked what that meant she told us beers were 4.25 and wings were half price (no smile...just very unenthusiastic, like , "come on . I already told these guys things were cheaper. Hmmmn, I don't want to be mean... but I always wondered where truck stop waitresses before they turned 55 work. In fairness they aren't all bad...we had 3 waitresses come by, 1 was good at her job.) We ordered 2 lbs of wings and 2 beers. The wings came out super hot (temperature)and the beer super cold. The wings also came with dip and veggies no charge. The 1 lb of wings at half price were $7 (roughly 70 cents a wing) So why only a 3 star review? 1. Poor atmosphere, it's far too bright, and with me and Adam there we lowered the average patron age to 65. 2. The bill was just wrong. We were offered $ 4.25 beers, the bill came out at $4.75 and $5 per beer....literally random prices. The waitress said, do you want 50 cents? It wasn't quite sarcastic, but really? Why the random prices? Is this the waitress version of reverse tipping? 3.It's hard to mess up a happy hour special, but there's no listing of it anywhere and you have to ask. Why hide your specials? So, the Lion's head. It's not bad ,if you're staying in the hotel, but not worth going to otherwise. Pros Not bad price for drinks during happy hour Lots of parking outside Cons No atmosphere, you might as well be at a Denny's
