Very good guesthouse. We had a large room with a terrace, pleasantly decorated and well-equipped. There was a kettle in the room. Warm, the heating could be regulated. There is also a garden with swings overlooking the castle and the mountains. Nice service. We did not eat meals at the guesthouse, so the rating does not apply to them. We were in Schwangau for a few days and explored the sights there with our e-bikes. When we finally arrived at our destination, the first impression was very good, an old building that has been around for a few years and can tell a lot of stories. We received a very friendly welcome and made us feel like we belonged. It was a haven of peace and relaxation. We will come back in any case. Rooms: Our room was very spacious, clean and had an extra bed. TV and a mini fridge as well as a possibility to make tea or coffee were available. The bathroom was adapted to the room and furnished in a modern way. Our room had a direct view of Lake Forggensee. Nearby activities: There is a lot to discover, you should leave the car behind and explore the area on foot or by bike. There are countless cycling and hiking trails. We explored a lot by bike, went on a castle and lake tour, visited Füssen and much more. But honestly, let yourself be inspired. Walkability: Lake Forggensee is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There is a cafe nearby as well as a campsite and its restaurant. Food & drinks: One evening we tried the food in the restaurant and were very impressed. The prices for food and drinks were adjusted to the region. My dinner was a plain schnitzel under a ham and Tyrolean cheese roof with cocktail tomatoes, fresh mushrooms and rocket, with fries. The plate looked promising, a little bit of everything but not too much. Everything was freshly prepared and served very warm. The combination of the ham and the cheese was harmonious and with the sauce it was a treat for the palate. Let's come to the fries, I would say that they are homemade. They had a good bite and were very well seasoned. The pork schnitzel was a typical schnitzel. It was fried juicy and very tender. Anytime again and highly recommended. The dish gets a 9 out of 10. My wife's dish, pork loin on cheese patties with fresh mushrooms, spring onions and a good portion of onion rings. Let's get to what I rarely try. It's about Käsespätzle or Kasspatzen. I tried it and was very surprised. It was subtly seasoned and very good, it could become a friendship. The fillet was tasty, fried pink. The mushrooms are freshly prepared and excellent in combination with the spring onion. Would have liked a touch of garlic here. All in all, a very harmonious, extremely tasty dish that grew into a real treat for the palate thanks to the onion rings. Any time again and highly recommended. Here too a 9 out of 10 stars. Noteworthy details: The hotel has WiFi and a bicycle container where you can store your bikes. There is plenty of parking space and there are two entrances. At breakfast time we were shown to our table and kindly told that we could put together our breakfast using an order card. The choice was very plentiful and there was something for every taste. Personally, I think this is very good because you order breakfast carefully, but if something is missing you can always reorder it.
