Well, my wife and I tried here a couple of weeks ago. Was worried as the menu was massive. That usually means they don't do just a few dishes well, but lots of mediocre. Anyway, we went. Sat at the edge overlooking the downstairs seating. Asked for wine price for bottle and was told 1500LE. This is over double the other restaurants around, and when we said we got a bottle in a good place at the bottom of the road, he said never. We we did, I have a bill !!. So had a beer & soft drink. Food. Now, here it went downhill. Ordered the Turkish stuffed vine leaves and mixed salad and cigara borek, and I had a seafood platter (mid priced) main and wife had pide (Turkish pizza). Apart from the salad, it was all terrible. The cigarette bored is meat to be a thin cigar shaped filo pastry filled with spicy mince or cheese. These were kofte kebab in pastry and huge. Not correct. The stuffed vine leaves were hot and coated in some dark form of molasses, very bitter and sour - horrible. The head waiter/ manager, (not sure) said he would change for plain ones. However, the dark nasty sauce was in the stuffing mix. We asked why they were hot, and he said microwaved from frozen. We returned them. The pide came and had next to no meat in it. Julia dropped some down for a very scabby cat, and it sniffed it and walked off. That's a bad sign. She opened it up, and the pastry was raw inside and freezer burned on the ends and really poor quality. My seafood was inedible. The guy said it came with small clams as we didn't recognise a word in the ingredients, turned out to be crabs !!! So crabs, king prawns, calamari, fish gougons. Jeez. So, calamari was thin rings over fried, so rubbery and shrivelled. Like elastic bands. Fish gougons were looking ok, but when I cut in, rubbery and slightly raw on one side. Didn't risk that. King prawns were sliced down the back and deep fat fried. The meat had shrivelled away and what was left, welded to the shell. No meat left. The crabs had their underside cut away and deep fat fried. It was just a skeleton. No meat in them. The chips were ok. Now, it took 45 minutes to get the starter and another 10 mins for the mains. There were only 6 customers. The manager man, we called over and showed him all this, and he agreed. We paid for the 2 drinks and salad. He was very apologetic and brought a fruit plate, which was nice. This restaurant has not got a proper kitchen or chef. A weatherspoons in the UK puts them to shame. This restaurant needs to cut the menu down and do a few dishes nice. Personally, I wouldn't go. There's far better in Naama Bay. Raw, undercooked and obliterated food. Walk to the bottom of the road, turn left a restaurant name beginning with D romps past this. I recently dined at La Rose Restaurant and was very disappointed with the experience. The food was far from what I expected – bland, poorly prepared, and definitely not worth the price. I tried a few dishes, and none of them stood out. For the high cost, I expected much better quality and flavor. I wouldn't recommend visiting La Rose Restaurant. Save your money and try somewhere else. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: E£800–900 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
