I stayed at La Place Rendez-vous this week while on a business excursion to Fort Frances, and it was a lovely little hotel! My first impression was the staff -- everyone I interacted with was so friendly, from those at the front desk, in the restaurant, and the housekeeping staff as well. My colleague and I requested early check-in and late check-out (to work around our flights), and we were accommodated without the slightest fuss. Fort Frances is a tiny town, and without transportation, we were unable to pop out and grab a bite to eat or food to keep in our rooms. However, the on-site restaurant is nearly always open (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and their food is so tasty that not being able to go elsewhere wasn't a problem in the slightest. Highly recommend the bruschetta! The room I was in (#117) was quite sizeable, with a queen-sized bed, decently-sized television, and a couple of steps down from the "loft", a desk, couch with coffee table, and sitting table. I could've hosted a little gathering in there! Not to mention the view... I was lucky enough to be in a lake-side room, and even with the cold, dreary weather, the view was gorgeous. I can only imagine walking along the lake in the nicer weather... Definitely worth staying if you find yourself in Fort Frances.
