After a previous good experience in Maastricht, we also went to La Cubanita nearby. Nice place in Spijkenisse. Very friendly service, cheerful and nice ladies, there is nothing to complain about. However, the quality of the food is terrible. Everything seems to have come out of the fryer or had been in the oven for far too long. The choice started with Bruchetta, which looked more like a melba toast, bone dry and the trout could hardly be tasted because you had a chunk of toast in your mouth with every bite. Spare ribs were dry and dark brown to black. Melon with ham was hard tasteless melon with tough dry ham. Kibbeling was frying fat soaked fish ball, breaded chicken pieces were not much better. Spicy steaks were unbearable and so tough. The minced meat taco was also rock hard and soaked in fat. Was everything bad, no, carpaccio was fine, crispy chicken legs were good and bread with alioli was also tasty, and dessert was okay. Overall conclusion: you cannot expect unlimited food for this amount of money, but the quality is so terrible that for this money you can also eat well elsewhere. First experience in Maastricht was good, but this visit was unfortunately disappointing, so we will not return to Spijkenisse.
