The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we have been cheated by the server. It's a long story but to sum it up, we've been added an extra 200ml of very expensive alcohol drink (țuică). We dined here the next day with another server and the place lit up in our minds and the experience was much better. The food is very good. We had dinner in this restaurant on a Monday night, trusting customer's reviews that put "la Calul Alb" in 2nd place in TripAdvisor's restaurants in Timisoara. The night before we had a fantastic experience at "nr 1" of the above list, located few meters ahead, central location in Timisoara.The restaurant was quite empty, except for few tables occupied in one area (maybe there were other better dining areas that we didn't see). We were asked to sit in a separate room, which was quite. Considering the reviews, the prices and the location i was expecting a "classy" decor but the ambience is quite anonymous, with the only exception of the nice traditional ceiling. The food is really good, generous portions, the wine list is great! There are very few options for vegetarian people like me and this is a shame for a restaurant that, clearly, wants to emerge from the rest of the turistic places. Few minutes later than our order has been placed, a big group of people occupied the other tables of the room. From that moment on we were litterally forgotten of: we were just given our dish and that's it. Neither a formal: "how is going with the food?" or a practical "do you want something else?". I would have loved to taste some dessert or a digestive liquor but, as said before we were practically ignored. We, then, decided to leave so i went to pay and i told the waitress (or the owner, since she was the only staff person i've seen the whole evening) that nobody cared about us in the last hour or so and that i was unhappy about it: she smiled and gave me the bill to pay as if i told her i had a great experience! Did she understand? I really don't know. The bill was adequate for the good quality of food and wine.Here are my tips for you:- add some vegetarian starter (no, side dish as french fries or pan fried mushroom are not starters)- whenever a customer orders a bottle of wine it is good habit to have him taste the first sip of the bottle before pouring glasses. This is basic customer care- big groups are usually big money, i understand, but every customer has the right to be equally taken care of.
