You know that feeling when you're really excited to try out a new restaurant? That's how I felt about the store here. I drive by almost every day and every time I think what a cool place. A bit shabby, dark, you have to get something really authentically tasty to eat for little money. Went there today with almost euphoric anticipation and then unfortunately disappointed. The dishes from the "specialties" menu were a little more expensive compared to the "normal" dishes, but according to the description they promised something really special. Unfortunately, number 25, the pork belly with Thai broccoli, was quite a disappointment. For €16.90 you get half a handful of pork belly pieces with sliced broccoli in a brown sauce. Unfortunately, despite the delicious smell, the pork belly was quite tough and not crispy at all, the broccoli on the other side was very firm to the bite and didn't seem completely cooked through. Unfortunately the brown sauce couldn't cover up the negatives of the other ingredients, it was boring to be honest. So boring I couldn't even tell what it was supposed to taste like. The rice that came with it was just rice and it was fine. The red curry was very coriander-heavy, which is a matter of taste, but otherwise there was no taste explosion. Soup and wonton were good. Prices for the ambience and portions are not appropriate. Oh well. I left the store a little sad and disappointed and wanted to do the general public a favor with this review so that you won't be as disappointed as I was.
