We are not from the area and used Google Maps to look for a home-style restaurant near the Wehetalsperre. A positive thing to mention is the parking space right next to the restaurant. When you enter the restaurant you first stand directly at the counter. We were directed by a young lady to the restaurant area, which is quite sober. A loudspeaker (only the connection cable in the wall left evidence of the second) filled the room with uncomfortably loud 80s hits. Since it was already 8 p.m. and there was still a 1.5 hour drive home ahead of us, we decided to stay anyway. The menu was quite extensive and the food was ok. Despite the fact that the one young waitress was responsible for both the counter and the restaurant area, the service was still good and friendly. We had an unpleasant surprise with the bill. Although there was no such notice anywhere, we were now told that we could only pay in cash. Unfortunately, we were just a few euros short of cash and now had to get cash from the only ATM nearby for a fee of 5 euros. This is simply no longer appropriate. Payment with EC card is possible at every small bakery or newspaper kiosk. Only accepting cash, especially in a restaurant or pub, without first informing the guests of this is simply inhospitable and extremely backwater.
