Visiting Kolonaki Greek Kouzina in Parkhurst, Randburg, is like taking a mini-trip to Greece without leaving Johannesburg. The menu is a mix of modern and traditional Greek dishes, and each item we ordered had its own unique flavor. The tiger kataifi was a crispy delight, and the beetroot hummus was a refreshing change with its earthy taste. The hummus, tahini & lamb were rich and savory, while the grilled bifteiki was tender and well-seasoned. Now, onto the pork belly - it was cooked to perfection, tender with a nice crunch on the outside. The roasted cauliflower was a pleasant surprise, light yet flavorful, and the Greek salad was fresh, with each ingredient shining through. The service was exceptional. It was one of those places where the staff just knows when to come around. I barely reached for the water bottle when a waiter appeared, ready to pour it for me. It’s the small gestures like this that really elevate the dining experience. Kolonaki has a relaxed, friendly vibe which makes it a great spot for a casual dinner or a gathering with friends.
