Great Traditional restaurant with good honest staff. I came here with my partner on Friday 27th December, the restaurant is surrounded by lovely landscapes - the restaurant is spacious and very welcoming, staff were polite and sat us to our table almost soon as we entered. The food was fresh and lovely, I had the grilled chicken wings which came with a traditional sauerkraut bread and some local spicy sauce with pickled peppers and salad. The chicken wings were delicious and fresh! My partner ordered the garlic and cheese soup which was also delicious, this came with croutons which perfected the soup. It was also full of flavour and fresh. We also ordered a side portion of fries which came fresh, light and crispy! All of this was for €22 I have absolutely no complaints at all the restaurant for me comes recommended from someone who hasn’t been to a local Slovak restaurant and I highly recommend this place to locals and anyone passing through the area definitely a hidden Gem of Ruzomberok! I would also like to thank the staff who were honest when we called on Sunday morning who kept my sunglasses safe as we left these on the table when we left - again this shows great dignity and honestly of the kind of staff you will find at Richtarka Restaurant! This place was great for atmosphere. It is in a traditional style Slovak wood house and very quaint. We stopped for lunch while driving through Slovakia. The server didn’t speak English but luckily we had someone in our party that knew Slovak. The grounds are beautiful! It’s a little remote down an off the path road, but that made it more charming. There wasn’t any cell service but that made it even better! There is a farm with cows, sheep and even a pond full of trout. They use these ingredients in their restaurant so everything felt fresh. We had the mushroom soup to start (traditional) and it was good. A little watery for me, but It had dill in it which was a surprise but I loved it. I ended up getting a chicken salad because I didn’t want anything heavy. It had strawberries and came with garlic toast. It was perfectly dressed and didn’t need any additional dressing. We went there directly for the venision goulash and for the cooked beef thigh, root vegetable sauce with cream. We were so happy to find this place that after we had ordered our menus we asked for one additional meal venision goulash in take away. Well.. All the food that we ate there was really excellent but that one that we brought home was awful! They made the goulash extremely spicy and the meat was tough. I don't understand, why it was good for them to fool us like this but they made us really disappointed. Because of this I don't recommend this place and I don't think that we will visit them again.
