This afternoon we sat down on the terrace of Kaffee Katoen for a drink. The service of this cafe was disappointing. No drinks menu on the table and a long wait before you are noticed. Plenty of young staff who prefer to play with their smartphone in the corner of the terrace or drink from Coke bottles hidden in the planter. Then the waitress couldn't name 1 beer on tap. So another 5 minute wait for a beer menu. When we had made a choice, 2 wrong beers were soon served. We didn't have the other one, but these were also tasty, the boy who served us told us. Consultation in advance seems neat to me. Anyway, nowadays you can apparently be happy that someone comes to work on the terrace. With the second order nothing was delivered at all. Pointing to the boys/girls service didn't work, so I had to inquire myself. This time the chosen beer was not in stock and therefore not served. Well, maybe we could have reported this. The alternative was brought after 15 minutes, so the rest of the family had already finished their consumption. Completely disappointed by the lack of catering etiquette and commitment, we also saw a staff member eating snacks from the bowl of a partying group. Then we were actually done with this tent. This is not the place for a relaxing drink on the terrace!!! You pay €6.70 per specialty beer for the amateurish service. Next time to the neighbors' terrace.
