I come to this location once in a while to satisfy my mazesoba cravings. I find it cool that they have a Free Size Option (Regular, XL, XXL) meaning ordering a larger size of a dish doesn’t cost you anything extra. A bowl of white rice is on the house (optional if you choose to order) to mix and serve with the surplus mazesoba sauce. I do this when I’m extra hungry I usually have a hard time choosing what to order from the Mazesoba menu. My favourites so far have been the Vegetable Mazesoba, the Cream Mentaiko Mazesoba, and the Tokyo Mazesoba, which I had this time. They all deliver clean, savoury, and refined flavours, and are not greasy at all. Always like how presentable their dishes are too. Forgot to take pictures, but tried the Green Grape Kokoro Refresher drink which I thought was not worth the money. The takoyaki was pretty good. Also like that I am given the necessary tools to accommodate my taste buds and personalize the saltiness and spicy level to some degree with vinegar and pepper flakes. The space itself has sort of a raw and hollow feel to it with a casual atmosphere, which I like, just not as cozy and fancy as their Lougheed or Brentwood locations. The taste has been consistent over the years and I always look forward to visiting them. KOKORO Tokyo Mazesoba is a Japan-based chain noodle shop. They make noodles in-house, and they are well-known for their mazesoba まぜそば "mixed noodles" dry ramen.

They have two options for $25/person (available for lunch and dinner) during the DOVF from February 5-March 7 at three lower mainland locations (UBC, downtown, and Lougheed). You can try out their mazesoba with a choice of appetizer and their most popular Fuji Cheese Cup Cake.

Their mazesoba is very flavourful, tasty, and quite filling. If you ask me, I highly recommend it to those who want to try something new and good in Vancouver.
