Hello, I cycle to the hut regularly, what/how should I put it, whether summer or winter I feel right at home and like I'm on a "little Allgäu holiday" there. As soon as you drive into the hut, which is located in the edge of the forest (shady, cool in summer), you can see that it is run with passion. The rustic decoration (planted, used boots, etc.), the whole ambience is staged as if it were with the ravages of time, like the forest, has grown. When it comes to food and drink, there is little to complain about in terms of prices, the hut team cooks down-to-earth dishes that reflect what they do well, it just tastes good, of course sometimes there could be something there be more, or different here and there, but everyone feels that subjectively. In any case, they are also open to suggestions (the sound makes the music), they are flexible, if possible the guest's wish is fulfilled and sometimes, If a thirsty cyclist is given a drink at closing time, I say keep it up, and see you again in the Jungholzhütte! We are very happy when someone, like you, takes a serious look at what we have been doing for almost twenty years. Apparently we're doing pretty well. You mention portions that could often be a little more - and you wouldn't believe how happy I am about that statement. So, so often we hear that our portions are too big and we have to take back half-full plates. Then it hurts to throw away so much food. Our reaction: We make the portions a little smaller. As I said, we want to avoid throwing tasty, fresh and carefully prepared food into the trash. But when a guest tells us that he would like a second helping - that is nothing other than high praise for the kitchen, which we are happy about. You're welcome!!!
