We visited the city of Astrakhan with the whole family and decided to have lunch at a cafe serving Russian cuisine, Izba. To begin with, I can say that I have never seen a worse cafe than this. 1. They brought the menu and didn’t indicate what was there and what wasn’t, we decided on a choice of 4 salads and 4 hot ones, of which there was only 1 salad and we had to review everything again, as a result, half of the dishes were not on the menu. 2. The first ones brought salads (a huge request to teach the cooks how to wash vegetables and herbs) because the dirt crunched on the teeth, we had to choose. 3. Be very careful because there are a lot of bones in chicken and fish, even in fish that shouldn’t have them. As far as I know, bones are removed from smoked chicken, but here we were apparently deprived, so be careful. 4. I don’t know what people wrote about the “delicious” dishes, I can only say for the “izba” salad, the only thing that was tasty out of everything else, the piece of chicken was as disgusting as possible, the food was bland and not tasty. 5. The photos from the menu and in reality are completely different, as if the dishes were invented on the fly. 6. And at the end of all this they brought us the bill and it’s good that we checked it, because they added an extra dish to us.
