J'adore ce restaurant, on y mange super bien. La déco est top surtout le plafond et le patron est super sympa.

I won't comment on the in-restaurant service, since we haven't tried that in over two years. When I went with my husband, we really enjoyed it, but the ownership situation has changed in the meantime. The people are also very friendly (zero complaints about that). Let me preface by saying that I lived in London several years and have been cooking Indian food myself a long time (mainly Madhur Jaffrey's recipes). So, I was really looking forward to their Indian takeaway. The nearest Indian food is in Aarschot, and while Diest has several good restaurants (Wannes Raps, Johnny Flamingo, Albero d'Oro) it's not exactly an 'ethnic' food heaven. Unfortunately, I was terribly disappointed. This was really some of the most abysmal Indian food I've ever eaten. :-( Aesthetically speaking, all the dishes looked nearly identical, i.e. brown sludge. Spicing was incredibly heavy-handed, with no subtlety AT ALL. And honestly, who on earth puts giant wedges of unpeeled potatoes in palak paneer (which they've dubbed cheesy spinach)? (Or for that matter, in all the food!) They also don't offer raita, a staple with Indian food and naan in particular. (Edit: Both I, and another friend have asked for it in the past and been told 'no'.) The only positive thing I have to say about the experience is that the texture of the paneer (the cheesy in their cheesy spinach) was really nice and the naan was pretty decent. Immigrand has missed an opportunity. Diest desperately needs better authentic world cooking. There's a public ready and waiting for it, folks who don't want their food 'westernized'. If you're one of those people though, please steer clear of Immigrand (Indian takeaway, not their in-restaurant service).

Hi, first of all thank you very much for taking out some time and reviewing on our restaurant. We respect all the opinions people have about Immigrand, after all we are here for our clients. I can surely imagine that you have been cooking Indian food for years, but everyone has their own way of cooking. Our Indian food is not typical Indian as u meant, and that's true because that's not what we want. We live in Belgium and not in India.. so our kitchen is based on the target audience that we have here. Our daily clients do know that, they can contact us anytime and we will make the food the way they want it. Most of our clients are happy with the soft taste in our spicing, but if u preferred typical Indian food with full spicing and some Raita, you could have asked for it and we would make it immediately! I understand your frustration about Palak paneer maybe that was not your taste, we haven't heard that before but we apologize for the disappointment. We will surely keep that in mind. Further I just want to say, however your words are not that polite (specially the word "shame") the doors of Immigrand are always open for our clients, and we respect the demands of them. Next time just give us a call and we will try 100% to deliver food the way you want it! Kind Regards Immigrand
