There will be a lot of text, but it will be worth it. I was looking for an Italian restaurant for my wife for her birthday. We adore Italy and Italian cuisine, and my wife understands its intricacies and cooks authentic Italian dishes herself. I wanted to emphasize the festive mood by visiting some new establishment. The choice fell on Il Mio - a new restaurant for us, the description on the Internet inspired us. We were met by a charming lady without introducing herself as she is in this establishment (it is not customary to give your name to guests here). She asked about the reservation, offered to choose a table, asked to confirm whether today is really my wife's birthday. They provided confirmation that you will do... On the positive side, there were no questions regarding the service from the waiter Kirill. Everything is clear and correct, restrained, without unnecessary intrusive suggestions. There are no questions for the administrator either. Thanks for that. The first surprise was that the espresso was served without water (the establishment serves it in this format), but the question "do you want it cold or hot" caused us a slight shock and alerted us... By the way, pure "Arabica" is not served here, a mixture of Lavazza 60/ 40. And then "paneslos"! Burata was accompanied by four thin slices of cucumber and several cherry halves. Very ascetic presentation. In the salad (Italian!) there was a leaf of arugula and spinach, the rest was an ordinary frisée salad. All greens are cut with a knife! The fact that Italians traditionally tear greens for salads with their hands has not been heard here either. Grilled shrimp were barely warm, hard, with an unpleasant taste of fat. The Eggplant Milanese was also cold, the non-crispy eggplant was almost falling apart and was replaced by "tanned" mozzarella. The semi-cold risotto with porcini mushrooms overflowed the bowl of impressions. Yes, the rice was "al dente", but without a creamy consistency, without the pronounced presence of the taste of porcini mushrooms, without the proper aroma. The presence of truffle oil was barely noticeable. There was also doubt about authentic Pecorino Romano, at least medium aging. Does an Italian chef not know what risotto should be? The dish should still "steam" in the plate! Must be fresh from the pan, not reheated before serving! This is not a restaurant of Italian cuisine! The name "my family restaurant" absolutely does not correspond to the content - neither in terms of the premises, nor in terms of the dishes on the menu, nor, even more so, in terms of their quality. I appeal to the owners of the restaurant. You advertise Italian cuisine without conforming to the stated format. What cheesecakes for dessert? How can a "family Italian restaurant" have so much that is NOT ITALIAN?! Visit these formats in Italy, it will be very useful. Or change the name because you are confusing your guests! It seems that the restaurant's goal is solely to make money from the popularity of Italian cuisine, taking advantage of the general ignorance of visitors, how it should really be! Conclusion: utter disappointment. A birthday compliment (profiteroles, packed with them) did not correct catastrophic failures in all other matters. If you are looking for an establishment with Italian cuisine, and you know exactly how it should be - this is definitely not the place for you.
