Close to the beach this Pizzeria prepares a large number of Pizza varieties to a high standard and at reasonable prices compared to some of its competitors. Feels more like a large and hot barn inside so best to do a takeaway and eat on the beach with a cold beer Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
As a former restaurateur and foodie I'm very careful to choose restaurants based on reviews and good word of mouth experiences and was impressed by all six 5 star reviews for this new establishment. I chose a pasta dish with a sage infused oil base that was light and delicately flavored costing €15. My partner didn't have such a pleasant experience, understanding "gambieri rossi" to mean prawns, not a lonely single raw, cold prawn on top of pasta. On removing the head she screamed as the reddish body fluids flowed across her plate. On realising that she had received the uncooked, interpretation of this dish, she asked that the single prawn be cooked which the waitress obligingly brought to the kitchen. The pasta came back on its own, having been transferred to a different dish without the sage oil and was by now cold and dry. As the single pawn didn't reappear, she explained the situation to the waitress asking for a discount. Haggling ensued with the chef with the waitress as a go between who at first refused to discount the €18 price, then came down to €15 and eventually to €12. She ate the cold and dry pasta and asked for the bill which included a "Coperto" (Service Charge) of €5 for 2 people! (effectively recovering the €6 discount!) This restaurant has been recently opened or re-branded and after six five star reviews, the honeymoon review period is over as real customers will no doubt experience the same level of satisfaction as expressed in the hotel reviews and those for the pizza restaurant.... not a good omen for the future.
