A colleague from Bergamo recommended this restaurant to us. We sat outside in the courtyard. They were very busy on the Saturday we were there in early November. The weather was lovely and views awesome. The food service was quick. Two entree's bottle of local wine, and dessert for less than 50 euros. This was frankly one of the better meals (among many excellent ones) we had in the Milan area, and one of the least expensive. This is a must stop if you are exploring the upper city!
Decent, tasty Italian food. Local people around. Good wine. Service is awkward but friendly. If you go there on Saturday better have a reservation or don't go at all.
Truly amazing food in the heart of Citta Alta. If you're looking for some real Italian food where locals go - come to Il Circolino! Our friend from Bergamo told us about this place. We came here around siesta time, so when we finished eating, we've realised that no one else is here, not counting us, an owner lady and some really old people reading newspapers. And we still felt welcomed! Interior is really comfy - dark wooden tables and chairs, big bar, where you can drink your espresso and leave, newspapers, old wine bottles, some photos on the walls and a lot of people. True Italian vibes. Menu is in Italian or English. They have variety of Italian goods here - pasta, pizza, main dishes, everything is really tasty and in good prices! We've decided to take a fixed menu for, as I recall, 14 euros, with pasta, main dish and a wine/coffee and water. I don't remember what we ordered exactly but I think I've had something similar to ravioli with ragu and bacon, ahhhhhhh, amazing!!! Main dish was simply big amount of meat with fries or mashed potatoes, nothing too crazy, but tasty as well. Wine - omnomnom. Food is damn good and the whole place is so cute. One of the old guys smiled at me and said "cin cin" when I was drinking my wine. The owner of this place, nice lady, was speaking only Italian, but we somehow managed to talk with her - Italian gestures, "molto bene" and "perfetto" were enough to communicate and leave big smiles on our faces. Grazie mille!
