We went to Gia Sai on our first night in Pescara in the hopes of watching the England v Serbia match, based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and here. We weren’t disappointed. The place is very unassuming on the outside, and feels more like a neighbourhood bar than a tourist trap. The service was super friendly and good. Francesca went out of her way to be helpful, with our choice of drinks and food. On her recommendation, we had a pizza with mortadella, mozzarella di buffalo and tartuffo, and lamb arrosticini. The pizza was fabulous - great flavours and light, fluffy and crunchy dough - the chef told us that he makes the starter with honey instead of sugar and leaves it to rise over two days. The arrosticini were also delicious. So much so that we ordered another round The pasta frola that we shared for dessert was also fabulous - tender pastry and delicious peach jam. The staff also went out of their way to find the football and helped us get a taxi. All in all, we had a great evening and would happily return again. I got to know this place thanks to social media and the friendliness of Paola and Massimo and we took a detour from our route specifically to eat at their place and it was worth it: the best kebabs I've ever eaten! I hope to return soon to spend an evening with them. Super nice staff!
