The most down to earth loving people. They are the people you want by your side. Actual people. Trying to give a good service without dealing with nonsense. MUST SUPPORT these guys!

My husband and I stopped by Iconic Cafe and shared a soup and sandwich combo on our staycation date. Overall, it was pretty good. We got the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and the Potato Bacon soup ($9.30). We went around 1:30pm and while all their sandwich varieties were still available, the only soup left was the Potato Bacon. I was hoping to try the Thai Chicken Soup, I guess maybe another time. So all the sandwiches are premade and when you order, it gets pressed in a panini press. The Philly Cheese Steak had onions and bell peppers in it. I thought it would be real beef, but it tasted like processed deli meat to me. It was still good though. The soup was surprisingly good, especially since it wouldn't have been my first choice. It had a nice smokey flavour to it with a few pieces of diced bacon. It had lots of potatoes and was very flavourful but not too greasy/oily. The cafe is only open on weekdays and since neither my husband nor I work downtown anymore, when we are on staycation, we like to go to places in town that we normally can't visit because we are working, lol. Iconic Cafe was one of those places. Good food, reasonable prices. Our visit was a year and a half into the Covid-19 Pandemic. Mask mandates were still in effect. I will remark that the man serving us wore his mask only over his mouth and had his nose exposed. Better than people who wear their mask only on their chin, I suppose. So I'm going to wait until the Pandemic is over before I go back.
