Summary: IchiBan is the perfect place for decent and affordable sushi, especially if you are an all-you-can-eat person. Their menu is very diverse and everything is delicious. Food: Unfortunately, sushi is not Hamburg´s strength. Unless you go to Henssler & Henssler or Coast by East and spend a fortune. So far I´ve only been disappointed with terrible sushi that has either too much rice or not fresh enough fish and vegetables. However, these guys´ dishes are great, really well prepared, very tasty and also relatively healthy. Funnily, this place was actually recommended to me by a Fitness Trainer. I generally go for the all-you-can-eat and start with some edamame or Miso soup, then I order some Sushi followed by...yes wait for it....shake yaki (salmon filet) or some other main dish. Yes, this is also included in the Promotion! Also, if you have a sweet tooth, there are some desserts included too. Service: This is one of the most impressive things about IchiBan. If you opt for all-you-can-eat you get an iPad with the menu and you click on whatever you want to order. You have a maximum of dishes you can get per order and then you have to wait a little bit before ordering again. Don´t worry, timings are actually perfect. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Location: I probably walk past this place at least twice a day every day. So temptation is always big. ;) It is located right at the entrance of the Mundsburg Center, which makes it perfect to grab a bite after shopping, before watching a movie at the Cinema or in my case, after a good workout in the gym above. The Restaurant is pretty big and it is generally empty (still wondering how they afford rent). But don´t forget than an empty restaurant doesn´t necessarily mean bad food. Look at the bright side, you don´t need to make a reservation and you can bring big groups along. Great for birthday parties! Sayōnara and mucho love, D.
