My daughter is celiac and i asked the waitress many times confirming that theyre item was gluten free, they assured me mutiple times and they lied. She is very sick and not to mention when I first ordered it they put gluten bread right on top, im disgusted and this is the worst experience ever, vacation ruined. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50 Dietary restrictions: They will lie to you about gluten.

Been here 3 times and each time I go the quality goes down. Last time my food was chicken that was undercooked and a cold waffle. Recently I ordered a burger that came so burnt that it did not taste good just tastes charred. Service was inconsistent and was given wrong items. Overpriced for quality. I’m sorry, but I just have to comment. I remember when this place used to be great. Early 90’s. Wanna know how I know? Because MY FATHER built this place and helped name it! I sat on the logs as a 9 year old while he skinned each of them in our yard. My mother did the stained glass window. I say all this because people need to know what it once was. Key word ONCE. Sometimes when I come back to the valley, I dip in to relive memories. Each time it’s gone further downhill. After the restaurant changed hands a few times still within the same family, things were still ok. But NOW…it’s a very sad reminder of what good food and service used to be. It pains me to write a review of a place that was so dear to me decades ago. Like other reviews mention, we waited at the front for what seemed like a while before anyone even looked up. Once seated, it was a few mins again before being acknowledged. Then we waited a while for water. Once we got our meals, we were never checked on again. My quesadilla was great, but the “salad” that came with it was limp lettuce from a bag. It was advertised as a garden veggie side salad. It had 1 tomato sliver on top of the limp lettuce. Nothing else. This is literally what I feed my Guinea pigs. The salsa and sour cream came mushed together (which I notice other reviews also said…and the owner said they would change that presentation…..nope). Thankfully it was fresh as opposed to other reviews about the condiments. After reading many reviews, it’s clear that there are again new owners. Very sad to see the state of how things are going in this small town. Life isn’t what it used to be, and neither is Huckleberries.

It’s clear this place holds meaning for you, and we do respect the family history behind it.For clarity, we’ve been the sole owners since June 1, 2024. The restaurant was publicly listed for years and open to anyone interested in carrying it forward. Since taking over, our focus has been on running a consistent, welcoming restaurant for both locals and visitors.Like any business, we receive a mix of feedback and we review it all. At the time of your visit, there were no reported service or food concerns from staff. Holiday and seasonal traffic can sometimes affect wait times, which may explain the delay at the entrance.Regarding presentation, some elements — including how certain sides are served — have been part of the restaurant since its early days, and any changes are made thoughtfully over time.We understand that change can be difficult when a place carries personal history. Our goal is to respect the past while continuing to improve for the present.
