We got to this hotel by chance. We booked the Grohman hotel through booking and upon arrival they informed us that we were in the Rubino hotel. It surprised us a little, but in the end we were very satisfied. I read the reviews about this hotel and just laughed. If someone wants a Turkish all inclusive, go there and don't write nonsense about an older hotel in the Dolomites. I'll go to the overall impression. Upon arrival, the manager of the hotel kindly welcomed us and immediately accommodated us. Classic room with everything you need. Gastronomy in this hotel is very good. Dinner, a choice of 4 dishes + salads, soup, and sweets. Breakfast buffet. Selection of sweet and salty + coffee, tea, soda, juice. You can find yourself to your heart's content and 250m away you have a cable car and you can ski until 5:00 p.m. . The dinners were a culinary experience. I have never eaten such beef cheeks. On Wednesday, we all had a candlelit evening, which was very nice and nice. We have not been to the wellness center, but it is fully functional. You also have a ski room where you can dry your ski boots and put your skis in your shelf with your room number. We will definitely come back here if there is free space. Thank you for a pleasant stay. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value

A great hotel with excellent access to one of the best ski areas in the world. A couple of drawbacks. Read on for full details. We stayed here for a week in January 2024. We skied every day, were never there during the daytime, but ate breakfast and dinner there each day. Breakfast was always a buffet and very similar every day with some pastries, cereals, fruit, waffles or donuts, fruit juice, coffee, hams, cheeses, breads and scrambled eggs. I usually had yoghurt with fruit followed by scrambled eggs with ham and bread. Very nice. The evening system was weirder. There were always 2 served courses (starter & main) along with soup and a cold buffet. You had to order served food the day before. On the ordering form you couldn't say who had ordered what. Each could be a "half" portion or a full portion. We were a table of four people and we forgot most days exactly what we'd ordered the previous day. Nearby there was a table of around 15 and it was absolute chaos. The served meals were always lovely, however. Full of flavour and well cooked. There was usually a choice of 4 different options each day for each course. These served meals never came with vegetables though so for anyone trying to be healthy, you had to get vegetables from the buffet which were always cold. The bread in the evening was sometimes a bit stale. There was always a wide selection of puddings and I enjoyed some pudding every day. I am a big chocolate lover and there were a couple of days without a chocolate pudding so that left me disappointed. Water was free with breakfast but they charged for it in the evening so we always grabbed a bottle at breakfast and saved it for dinner. The staff were friendly and professional but didn't speak great English (better than my Italian) so determining exactly what the food was wasn't always easy. Overall food was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal times. The hotel was very clean. Everything was tidy and well presented. Each day our towels and bedding were folded. The shower had enough power and was hot. They provided soap and shampoo but not every day. We ran out one day. There was a bath mat provided but it was hidden under the sink on a stool so we didn't see it for a few days. The room had hot & cold air-con which worked well. The room had a balcony which we enjoyed. The sockets are type L, unlike the type Fs you will find in all the rest of europe, so my travel adapters didn't work. The staff provided an L to F adapter, however, which was very helpful! The staff were always helpful and very keen to do anything they could to help. Each afternoon in the bar area there was some free pizza, nuts, crisps, etc. They had a pool in the "wellness area" but in Italy you must wear a swimming cap and we didn't have one so we didn't swim. There was also a "games room" downstairs. We didn't seem to have a "don't come in and clean" sign which I always like but my parents did so maybe it was just our room. It was a classic "only have power if your key-card is in the slot" type room which can be frustrating because you can't leave things on charge, but it also saves power so I think I'm in support of it. Location wise the hotel is very near to the Col Rodella cable car lift which links directly into the Sella Ronda ski area. It's maybe a 5 minute walk to the lift. So that was very convenient. Our coach brought us more or less to the door and collected us from very nearby too. Access to the boot room was easy from the front of the hotel down some steps and the boot room had heated facility for your boots and clear storage space for skis. As always not much provision for snowboards but that's the same everywhere! On balance we had a really nice stay and I'd return or visit another hotel in the chain. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 4
