Hotel Roudani has a popular and very good restaurant under the covered front terrace. The restaurant attracts a steady stream of tourists wanting to eat a tajine or a couscous at a reasonable price: 70 Dirhams. Included with your lunch or dinner is a Moroccan salad of chopped tomato, cucumber, and onion, and pommes frites. Desert is usually a banana and an unpeeled orange. If you don't want a couscous, tajine or brochettes you could order a Berber omelette. Prompt service is by several polite and efficient waiters, who speak and understand several languages, including English. During the month of Ramadan, Hôtel Roudani's restaurant on the front covered terrace is one of the few places in Taroudant where tourists may have a tea, coffee, water, juice or soda and food during the daylight hours: breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite is four skewers of either grilled beef or chicken brochettes with pommes frites a Moroccan salad and fruit for dessert. Of course, mint teas, coffees, herbal tea, freshly-squeezed orange juice, Coca-Cola or other sodas, bottled waters, and smoothies are among the drinks available. No alcohol is sold here. My particular favorite is a puréed vegetables soup and the chicken brochettes on skewers. The brochettes are always delicious and juicy and not overcooked. I looked at a room on the top floor at Hôtel Roudani, which was sparsely furnished and clean, with an attractive solid purple blanket, and an ensuite bathroom with European toilet. There is no hot water, and the shower floor drain is in front of the toilet. Bring your own towels, soap and shampoo. But for 100 Dirhams a night for one person, Hôtel Roudani is a bargain. The hotel is centrally located directly on the popular Place Assarag. My favorite place to sit at night is Café Oasis, across Place Assarag next to the now-closed Hôtel Taroudant. Hôtel-Restaurant Roudani has reliably strong WiFi in the ground-level restaurant, but the signal does not reach up to the first and second floor rooms. You may charge your phone or tablet at any of the half dozen outlets inside the main downstairs room. It is not possible to book a room online, so just show up. Credit or debit cards are not accepted; only cash in Dirhams. The efficient staff are all friendly and efficient.
