The Hostaria del Moro in Trastevere in Rome If you're seeking a place in Rome to enjoy delicious food in a charming ambience, look no further than in Trastevere. After a long day of sightseeing, we weren't in the mood for elaborate multi-course meals; we craved the simple flavours of traditional Lazio cuisine. Having lost the list of recommended eateries and being chased by the January rain, we found ourselves at the mercy of fate, but one thing was certain for me: the pasta had to be "fatta in casa”, meaning "homemade". I dreamed of tagliatelle cacio e pepe and a bottiglia di vino that would bring a rosy glow to my beloved's cheeks. Frankly, you will not find a better place than the one I found. The Hostaria del Moro, nestled among its counterparts, stood out for its welcoming atmosphere. A few tables lined the narrow street outside, while inside, a crackling fireplace added to the cosy charm. While the portions weren't overwhelmingly large, they filled our bellies satisfactorily and although they begged for more of the delightful flavors, we simply couldn't manage another bite. Our waiter, a linguistic wizard fluent in a dozen languages, effortlessly conversed in my mother tongue, renowned alongside Chinese for its complexity, and expertly selected a wine to complement our meal, elevating us from prose to poetry.
