Total disappointment! My husband and I were influenced by the location in which this delightful tavern is located and by its Latin name but, unfortunately, already after the starter, we realized that the dishes and the service are absolutely mediocre and not up to par. height of the environment which is the only positive note. First of all, we were not provided with a menu and therefore we relied on the waiter who offered us hot appetizers. A plate of a few low quality cured meats and cheeses (we have eaten better ones), followed by a second appetizer consisting of 6 small single portions of vegetable mousse, vegetables, puff pastry and potatoes... well served but, in any case, products "poor" of the earth, prepared in a banal way.... Nothing else. Two trays of 6 tastings each... Subsequently, the waiter offers us the first course. At his suggestion, we choose 2 tastings each. Fusilli with caciocavallo, porcini mushrooms and hazelnuts and Pasta with cod. Long wait. Abundant dishes. Fusilli too seasoned with caciocavallo, you couldn't taste the mushrooms. Mediocre. Second taste after a long wait: Fresh pasta with cod: Terrible. The cod was rubbery and had not been removed from the skin... therefore it was impossible to eat it together with the pasta. The same goes for the black olives, which had not been pitted... it was really difficult to eat a bite... . In short, a failed dish. Two good glasses of wine. Very high bill. The cover charge is 4 euros each. Tastings of starters that equate to 2 starters were scored as 4 starters. Despite our requests for clarification, they nevertheless persisted in their absurd vision... Result? 40 euros for 2 tastings of first courses (terrible). 40 euros for 2 vegetable appetizers. Total 105 euros Ah..coffee offered... We were doubly disappointed. Avevamo prenotato il nostro pranzo Domenicale presso un altro ristorante, che dopo averci fatto aspettare quasi due ore (nonostante la prenotazione) ci ha comunicato di non poterci servire.
A pochi passi da lì c'era Hostaria De Sancti Martini.
Ci siamo fermati a pranzare in questo posto a dir poco fenomenale, con piatti eccellenti e personale preparato; professionalità e gentilezza ai massimi livelli. Meritate le cinque stelle.
Ci torneremo presto.
