My favorite location for a 'Friday end of the week drink and snack'. However, this time for the first time for a bite to eat. And as expected, that was also good. However, when paying, there was a surprising item on the bill: 'Fries instead of rice' with an amount. Surprising because the menu states that this dish has the choice of 'fries or rice'. (And all dishes are served with fries and mayonnaise anyway). No problem so far, but when I asked for an explanation I received the answer 'well, we have new menus and there may still be errors'. I really don't think such an explanation is possible. Certainly not for a case like this. Although it was indicated 'I will report it and we will look into it', I just had to pay. The latter is not a problem in itself, but the explanation (from the always friendly staff) is surprising. So, a nice meal but unfortunately with a strange aftertaste. Next time maybe just a drink and a snack. (And correct information on the map) Update: Fair's fair. My review above was quite negative. Not for the food, not for the atmosphere or the staff. This was just a piece of policy whose logic I did not and could not understand. And that was what I wanted to make clear and what came across (see response from management). Today, after about a month, we were there again (did some Christmas shopping and then we were in for some Delft fun). and suddenly Wessel stood in front of us to talk for a moment and to apologize for the inconvenience of last month. Wessel is a catering man as it should be. Friendly, verbally strong and. with the attitude 'customer is king'. Even after a month he came back to the incident and gave clear explanations. He put it right in a fideful manner and strengthened our confidence (which we still had) in the Konings Huys. In a royal way. I had to report this after my previous review. There's no reason not to stop by here. A location where they take the customer so seriously gives people confidence. Criticism is read, considered and treated seriously. So,...... feel free to drop by if you are in Delft. It's more than worth it. We will keep coming. (Now I probably get the question 'why not give it all stars? Well, there will always be a place in the world where it is better. There has to be room for that. And there are always people who have a different opinion. There there must also be room for it. The restaurant Het Konings Huys is located in a central location with the New Church on one side and the old Town Hall on the other. Very hospitable employees and excellent food. A beautiful terrace where we have eaten before, when the weather is nice. To the Prinsenhof with my grandson. The Old and New Church and to complete the day settled down at Het Konings Huys for a delicious lunch.
