De la fenêtre de ce restaurant, la vue sur Augustijnenkerk est magnifique. Vous pouvez toujours essayer des salades délectables, c'est une offre spéciale de Het Kippenhok. Essayez un halva savoureux.

Reserved table on a Friday at 8, which should be a primetime for restaurants, but not at Het Kippenhok (which closes at an early 9PM or might not even be open at all)! It was quiet and rather boring. The waiters put it as a table as far from other guests as possible, which made us feel rather unwelcome. They were borderline rude and were constantly snickering behind us at the bar.The first course (bread with butter) was okay, though the butter was too hard to spread. The soup was quite good and not too hot. The main, chicken skewers in our case, was rather poor: the sate was quite decent, though the mushroom sauce was tasteless. The fries were just flavoured crunchy shells, resembling fries. It also came with a side salad with courgette and eggplant, which was mushy and, quite honestly, gross. Desert was fine, though the panna cotta was too strong.The unfriendly atmosphere made me want to leave as soon as we got there. No attempt was made at making us feel more comfortable. The food ranged from okay to plain bad. If you hadn't guessed it already, we won't be coming back here.

I've tried the roasted chicken. It wasn't dry and. as really tasty. Well seasoned. Staff was good aswell.

Visited on a Friday night and the mood here was oddly quiet and dull. That paired with extremely slow and unmotivated service is the reason this place gets 3 stars. The food was good however not special enough for a stop if you're just visiting town. We had a whole chicken and it was satisfying enough.
