Ayant vu St. Mary's Church, c'est le moment de faire une pause dans ce restaurant. D'après les commentaires des visiteurs, la cuisine cajun et créole est plutôt bonne. Me and 2 friends came here after I had seen the spot driving on Queen St earlier summer. The venue was nice and had a nice down to earth vibe. The music wasn’t loud and the place was well lit. We were seated by a pleasant woman and went over the menu us. Our actual waitress was also very pleasant and had welcoming energy about her. The food was great as well (my friend is a culinary chef so he gave it a ). I had classic chicken and waffles while my friends had jerk chicken platters. Harlem Restaurant – Welcome Back! So happy to see Harlem back on the scene! Vibe was on point with DJ Carl Allen spinning all night. Came with a large group and tried a mix of dishes from the limited menu. Sadly, the food didn’t match the bold Afro-American/Afro-Caribbean flavors Harlem was once known for – seasoning was flat, relying more on salt than the vibrant spices the menu promised. Hoping they tweak the recipes so the taste matches the energy. Still, the Prince mural on the “patio” is a total Instagram moment. I’ll give it another shot – rooting for a flavor comeback! We had a birthday party there last night. Carl was amazing at communicating and getting back to us and accommodating such a large crowd. The vibe inside is nice, decor etc. Drinks were good, but the servers took too long mainly because they were doing the bar and being the waiters. We finally ordered, but I must say that there weren’t as many options as I remembered that they used to have. Once the food came it was underwhelming. The catfish, the linguine, the chicken all did not meet the standards of what we expected. Best item was the festival. It was disappointing because I remember Harlem from years ago and this wasn’t it. My suggestion - get a REAL Jamaican cook and reimagine that menu and you will see the difference. Have more options - especially for appetizers (fish fritters would have been nice). Authentic Jamaican/southern fusion cuisine doesn’t taste like that. More seasoning, not over cooking the noodles you get my point. Please do better. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
