Today I was at the Spangenberger bakery for the first time when, as a stranger, I was looking for a bakery in Grünstadt as I was on the way with my daughter in the stroller waiting for my wife, who was at the doctor. When I noticed the small shop, I was really happy because I generally prefer bakeries that are not branches of chains or large bakeries. However, if I had known what to expect there, I would have avoided the H. Spangenberger bakery. I bought a(!) piece of plum cake, a butter croissant, a dry cheese roll (not filled) and a small cup of coffee “to go”. The saleswoman then said “€7.50 please.” I was a bit suspicious, but I dutifully put down my €10 note, asked for change and walked out of the store. Once outside, I tried to grasp what I had actually just bought and paid for. No matter what I calculated, the €7.50 seemed far too much to me. So I decided to go back to the store to ask about the prices, since there was no price tag anywhere and I didn't get a receipt (I wasn't asked if I wanted a receipt either, probably because of The saleswoman definitely didn't put anything into any cash register as part of my purchase). However, I had to wait because another customer entered the small shop after me and I only wanted to go back in “corona-compliant” once the customer had left the shop. I took my first sip of coffee now (about 1 minute after leaving the bakery) and realized that it was really lukewarm at most (rather cold), so I downed it in one gulp. By now the customer was finished, so I went back inside and politely told the saleswoman that the €7.50 I had paid seemed too expensive and asked her to tell me the individual prices for the baked goods. Hold on tight, because her answer was as follows: “A piece of plum cake €3.50(!!!), the (dry) cheese roll €1, the (butter) croissant €1.50 and the (small, maximum 0, 15 l large and lukewarm) coffee €1.50.”. I replied "Excuse me, a(!!!) piece of plum cake €3.50?!? That's honestly a complete impudence!" Then she just said, “Well.” and grinned. Despite all the joy, I think €1 is cheeky for a dry cheese roll, but I'll put up with that. A butter croissant for €1.50 is also expensive, but just tolerable for the mini coffee 1.50 € cold is annoying, but it can still happen, but a (rather small) piece of plum cake (to take away) for 3.50 € is an absolute absurdity, an outrage and, in my opinion, absolutely intolerable. That is simply usury Incidentally, when I got home in Eisenberg I found that the quality of the baked goods was just average and didn't convince me. In summary, I would like to say that the H. Spangenberger bakery is absolutely not recommended, the prices are an absolute outrage and I advise everyone not to shop there. I urge the owner to reconsider his prices. Because I have never encountered such usury anywhere in Germany! I really feel like I've been ripped off...
