Hubby and I went for lunch. The lunch size is decent for ladies. Ordered omelette and burger. The fries are done nicely, definitely good with the ketchup. We didn’t order drinks, but they do have quite a long menu for it. Not many people in the restaurant, and atmosphere is warm and cozy. Love how the staffs are enjoying their job there. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’ve been a regular at Gracie’s Next Door and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Many of our employees also frequent the restaurant. Unfortunately, after a deeply disturbing and racist experience, I will never return. While having a quiet family dinner, we were approached by another customer who began ranting about how “Canada isn’t the same anymore” and quickly escalated to saying “You could get shot, you could get shot,” while pointing his finger at each of us. This was clearly racially motivated and incredibly threatening. I asked him to leave, and my mom was visibly afraid. Our server was kind and acted quickly by bringing over the manager. When the owner eventually came to our table, I extended my hand to shake his, trying to be respectful despite the situation—and he refused to shake it. It was shocking and demeaning. We explained what happened and asked for the police to be called, as the individual was still outside, wandering near the restaurant. Shockingly, the owner refused to call at first and insisted that we should call the police—while we were still inside his establishment. Only after repeated requests did he finally agree to make the call. The lack of urgency, compassion, and basic responsibility from the owner during a blatantly racist and threatening incident was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. I felt unsafe, unsupported, and completely let down by the way the situation was handled. I’ve always supported local businesses, but customer safety and a zero-tolerance policy toward racism should be non-negotiable. I’ll be sharing this experience across my platform to raise awareness. No one should feel unsafe or disrespected in a place they’re supporting.

Dear AT - we are sorry you feel this way . We are not racist . We reported it to the police. The police came - we outlined the circumstances and gave him your contact information as you agreed. We looked for the customer who did this - we could not find him. We searched for his credit card information to track him and the police decided they would not use it - he paid his portion in cash. We are sorry you feel this way , we understand your food and service were good . We spoke extensively with you after this incident, you seemed to be comfortable with our efforts and the steps taken to involve the police.We do not endorse this customers behaviour towards you in any way . We have never served this person before to our knowledge We understand you are upset - , but we did not initiate, or in any way support his comments or behaviour.- he is not welcome back;it seems he is from another region. We made every effort to correct and follow up on an incident we neither created or were aware of until after it had occurred. To suggest we are racist is inaccurate and unfair. Thank you - have a good day..

Mario's Kitchen has been a staple location for our family dinners and events over the years, and this time, we decided to host at Gracie's Next Door. The outcome was nothing short of spectacular. From the outset, the management and staff demonstrated remarkable dedication and professionalism. The team at Gracie's Next Door delivered excellent service throughout our event. They were attentive, ensuring that tabs were accurately started for the correct guests and taking the time to remember each guest's name and preferences. The food was absolutely outstanding, with our guests continually commenting on how delicious and plentiful everything was. The impressive spread truly elevated the experience and left everyone delighted. We were truly amazed by the turnout and the seamless execution of our reception. The hard work and commitment of the staff ensured that our day was flawless and unforgettable. A special thank you to Darren and the entire team at Mario's Kitchen and Gracie's Next Door for their exceptional service and support. We wholeheartedly recommend Mario's Kitchen and Gracie's Next Door to both locals and visitors in South Delta. These establishments are key spots to wine and dine, offering not only delicious cuisine but also a welcoming and professional environment that makes every occasion special.
