Thinnest pizza i’ve ever tasted, but it was great.

Misleading! They are listed as open every day, on both Google and their website, but are closed for holidays without any notice. We took the effort and time to go down there but were disappointed to find it closed. Id have happily hopped over to the Romeo restaurant but it was also closed. Very disappointing and misleading

Not one usually to leave reviews but I had a mixed experience at Giulietta after a recommendation from a local that I feel I must. Finding a pizza joint that serves both Roman and Neapolitan style pizzas was a joy as I am partial to the thicker, more doughy base of Napoli over the thin, crispy ones of Rome and the pizza, supli and croche were excellent. As a first time, non Italian, English speaking tourist to Rome, I had expected (and received) the typical Roman indifference in service over the last 3 days however this place was worse than usual. I have a bit of Italian that I trot out and I get that we are just tourists but a smile and a warm welcome is universal in any language and we simply were not made to feel welcome. Service was slow and we were told flat out that it is against the law to serve tap water in Rome (possibly true, internet is divided but we have been served it all trip) and had to ask 3 times before they relented and brought a solitary glass to my pregnant girlfriend. The Italian obsession with image extends to never being seen to order tap water, fine for them but on ecological grounds I refuse to buy bottled water, regardless of any laws. After "Watergate" we were told we couldn't add or change any toppings as the chef had created each pizza to taste as she designed, fair enough, until you read the fine print and you are allowed to remove items, where is the committment to flavour then? Beers were great, as was the pizza but I regret not going to Nuovo Mondo or Ai Marmi as we originally intended, both more traditional (and lively) places we walked past on the way home.
