This is a lovely place to take your kid if you live in Kimberley. There are epic playgrounds and plenty of toys. The petting zoo is always a highlight and there are some really cute animals. I do think they could spruce up some of the animal pens a bit more. The padstal is terrific and you can buy many types of goods there. The kitchen has a decent menu but food does arrive cold (both times I've been there.) I will go back. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

The ease of access and security allowed us to explore the padstal’s offerings without any worries. The gift shop at Germar is a treasure trove that caters to all ages and tastes. Whether you’re looking for unique souvenirs, local crafts, or just a little something to remember your trip by, you'll find it here. The range of products is thoughtfully selected, offering choices for men, women, and children, making it easy to pick up gifts or treats for the whole family. As for refreshments, the coffee served at Germar is robust and flavorful—just what one needs after hours on the road. Complementing the great coffee is a menu of hearty, tasty food that feels both homemade and satisfying, perfect for replenishing your energy before continuing your travels. One of the highlights for us was the quaint petting zoo, which is especially wonderful for children. The zoo houses a variety of animals including a friendly donkey, several birds, rabbits, and even a llama. It’s a great way for kids to interact with animals in a safe and engaging environment. Another noteworthy aspect was the cleanliness of the facilities. The toilets were well-maintained, which is always a pleasant and much-appreciated find in any travel stop.
