Now let me tell ya something. This is the place to go. I stop here every time on my hour 8 drive and is one of the very few things I look forward to. I found this establishment on a whim and I’m so thankful. Service, food and atmosphere is all here. I ordered the Spicy Gungnam Style chicken with Rice. The food was fresh, crispy and incredibly delicious. The side dishes were immaculate. I highly recommend the Zucchini in garlic Will be coming back on my next travels and so should you. A Korean restaurant and bubble tea location... That also has Korean corn dogs. The inside of the restaurant is clean and aesthetically cute and pleasing to the eyes. Especially their merchandise. I got their bubble tea and mozza dog combo ($13.99). Specifically the Matcha Green Tea with Pearls and shaken (shaken is just with ice in it and blended is like a slush), the Half and Half (mozzarella cheese and beef hotdog), and the Honey Garlic sauce. You can get up to 3 sauces if you so choose. The bubble tea tasted sweeter than expected. A bit too sweet for me. The pearls were chewy and a bit too stiff. The mozza dog dough was chewy and soft. There's a layer of crunch on the outside. The cheese was a good cheese, hot, melty and thick. The beef hotdog tasted as it should. The honey garlic sauce that I dipped the mozza dog into and drizzled it over was sweet. A bit too sweet. The restaurant itself seemed to have an assortment of Korean food like tebbokki, Korean fried chicken and other dishes that they advertised. The $13.99 is a steal of a deal for a bubble tea and a mozza dog. Cause I'm North Bay, the bubble tea around here (from doing a quick Google map search) is $9.50. I'm more used to paying around $7.50 for a large in Toronto. Anyways, the food and drink was filling and good for it's price point. First Visit: 1 Star I initially visited Gangnam Korea - North Bay with high expectations, only to leave disappointed. The delayed service, lackluster flavors, and a hefty price tag made it an establishment I didn't plan to return to. Let's delve into the specifics: Pros: Enjoyable bubble tea served within the first 10 minutes. Friendly and polite staff. Clean and well-designed space. Varied menu catering to individual and family preferences. Nice selection of sauces, adding variety to the meal. Cons: Prolonged wait of over 30 minutes for food. Misleading spice level in Gangnam style spicy chicken. Dry fried chicken lacking juiciness. Mozza Dog with excessive dough. High price tag for mediocre food quality. Comparison to Popeyes revealed inferior fried chicken experience. Conclusion: The first visit was a letdown, and I couldn't recommend Gangnam Korea - North Bay for a fulfilling and reasonably priced dining experience. Second Visit: 3 Stars Undeterred by the first experience, I decided to give Gangnam Korea - North Bay another chance, opting for takeout this time. To my surprise, the second visit marked a remarkable improvement, turning my disappointment into delight: Observations: The Mozza hotdog, a previous disappointment, showed a significant improvement. The dough-to-cheese ratio was perfect, with a satisfying crunch. The Matcha tea maintained its perfection, consistent with my first visit. The Gangnam style spicy half chicken was notably juicier, with a more extended and enjoyable flavor profile. The spice level was elevated, offering a pleasant sweetness in the background. The honey butter flavor in the half chicken was a delightful surprise, showcasing improved juiciness, crunchiness, and overall flavor. A positive addition to the second visit was the inclusion of a small side of pickled radish and kimchi, both expertly prepared. Transformation: The contrast between the two visits was stark. The issues with the Mozza Dog, spice level, and dryness in the first visit were effectively addressed during the second visit. The overall dining experience was significantly enhanced. Revised Conclusion: Gangnam Korea - North Bay managed to turn the tables with a remarkable improvement in my second visit. The food quality, flavours, and even the addition of thoughtful sides demonstrated a commitment to customer satisfaction. I'm pleased to revise my opinion and would recommend giving this place a second chance. The second visit showcased a positive transformation that has earned Gangnam Korea - North Bay a solid 4-star rating in my book. I love the fact the owner took dissatisfaction so seriously and went above and beyond to better the experience., that shows true commitment. I look forward to future visits and further positive experiences. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$30–40 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
